    Why? Are they there to intimidate/be triumphalist/mark out territory/show outsiders what religion you are/show how proud you are to be British or Irish?

    I can't see the point to be honest. I think they bring the place down, especially when they've been left up for ages and are in tatters.

    We in northern Ireland should make our own flag which is not tacky and Uda influenced... We should do one like the Spanish flag or something

    And they are obviously there to make out territory but the folk who put them up in the country out them up for the 12th and then take them down again they are actually celebrating culture and not marking territory

    Yes in Coleraine there are tons they've been up since last year there's actually a Scottish one which has been up for three years now it's near the cinema
