Hi,i was reading up on a manual that came with a stove and it recommends to fit a low limit pipe stat on the return set to about 45 degrees to prevent the pump from running if the return water is below this temp, can someone please explain how this is connected and where the stat is positioned etc.thanks

I have just installed a stove as well. The pipe stat is connected to the feed, ie the pipe coming from stove into cylinder in hot press. My manual said that it should be fitted on the return, ie the pipe leaving cylinder going to stove.

My plumber advised to fit to feed to cylinder and said,

The stat can be fitted on either. If you fit it as the manual says (on return ) you will have to wait longer for the pump to "kick in" to heat rads.

If you fit it to feed as i have the pump will kick in quicker heating rads as well as water.

But basically your stat is connected to pump normally in hot prees but not always, Is it a diy job?

    Hope this helps
