    You know where the statue of the man with the gun is, across from the library?

    That bit of the Royal Canal used to be water and that bit of the North Circular was a bridge over it.

    Ah, thank you. That also explains why Royal Canal Bank doesn't have any canal for most of its length.

    Ah completely forgot about the canal that used to go down to Broadstone.

    And btw if you've never been in the old canal basin at the centre here you really should.
