Indicator stalk and full beams

When the lights are on in my car, they flick between dim and full beams automatically, especially when travelling over bumps in the road, etc, etc..and when using the indicators the full lights can flick on, it feels like something is loose in there ....Is there a fuse or switch gone in there that is causing this?

How much would a new one cost and would I be able to change it myself?its getting frustrating now that its getting dark early and have to have lights on most of the time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

what car is it, the stalk is normally the switch and the contacts have gone faulty, have had it in the past, i bought a new stalk, that was on a jaguar x type (same part as mondeo)

Thanks for your response....its a '97 opel corsa, i don't think its the stalk itself , my sister initially had the problem with her corsa so my brother-in-law switched my working part for her faulty one for her NCT and never switched them back...and her car has been scrapped now....... do you have any idea how much it would cost to repair or the part to buy...?Thanks

i'm 95% sure that it's the stalk, shouldn't be hard to change and the link above has one for sale on ebay or any scrap yard will have them, that or go into your local motor factor (not halfords, local one's are better imo) and that should do it,
think it's common enough on the corsa
