    Suspension Test Nearside Offside Imbalance
    Front Axle 83Mm 50 Mm 40%
    Rear Axle 68Mm 68Mm 0%

Spent a lot getting this car ready but don't know if this is an easy fix or not.
    Any advice appreciated;)

It's probably a weak damper, the nearside one often gets more of a hammering and wears out more quickly. Easy enough fix for any mechanic or even a competent DIYer. They should always be replaced in pairs so you'll need to get both front ones done.

It technically mean that one side on the front is more or less bouncy than the other. Unless there are any other obvious faults, you would need two new shock absorbers and or springs, but if one of the original shock/springs is visibly F**** you might get away with doing that alone, but generally you should repair suspension in pairs.

Not very serious issue, cost would depending on the car

Am I getting this right, he was driving around for 2 years in a car without tax / NCT and got stopped by the Gardai and told to get the car taxed / NCTd within 10 days and go to the Garda station to prove it was done? Was he insured? Or am I reading this all wrong?

Just to make you feel better, you'd pick up a pretty decent Colt with NCT for 1200!

Good point, that would be unbelievably amazingly generous of the Garda, in fact I find it very hard to believe at all given the list of offences.
I suspect the Garda gave the young lad the statutory 10 days to produce documents at the Garda station to show he had tax/NCt/insurance at the time he was stopped, not that he gave him 10 days to sort out his car and all will be hunky dory. If my suspicions are correct then the son could be facing charges for no tax/NCT or failing to produce on demand (at the roadside) or failing to produce within 10 days.
