Good Audio Book on Psychology

Hi, I am looking for some advice.

Can anyone reccommend a starter book/s in Psychology.

My daugther has started a one year course to see if she likes this area.

Her travel time is approx 3.5 hours a day so she would have plenty of time to listen to a Audio Book/s on the topic.

The book needs to be an audio book rather than printed. This is my first post in this area, so I hope this is ok to post this here.

Not sure about audio books specifically, but you'll certainly find some psych podcasts/college lectures (search the iTunes store) out there.

There's also the likes of Academic Earth, but you'd need to be in front of a computer to watch the videos.

It depends how much detail your daughter wants. If she is keen to get a complete overview of the subject, she could try a crowd called "The Great Courses" (formerly the Teaching Company) which is a company that provides educational material on a broad range of subjects.

They have a course that you can find by clicking here, which might suit. It's not for the faint hearted as it's 36 half-hour lectures, but I have heard it's very good. It's also qute pricey, but it might be worth considering.

I don't think there's a better introduction to psychology on the web in mp3
form than these lectures. These are also good, but the other ones are better.

Sometimes authors of the standard textbooks pop up on podcasts/online lectures, etc.

Oliver Sacks has some audio books, I have a copy of "The Mind's Eye". It wouldnt provide a broad overview but it is interesting stuff!
