My PS3 just died, what to do?

Hi all, my PS3 is about 3 years old and has never had a problem, but a couple of days ago I got a yellow light, then flashing red. I've checked online and pretty much it seems it's died on me. So my question now is whether it would be worth repairing it or just getting a new one. Does anyone know how much sony charges to fix them and how long does it usually take.

    Thanks

Thanks for this, will give them a go, saves buying a new one and I'm not too keen on the slim models
