The guest list was the biggest stress in the whole organisation of our wedding. Family fights, my mother and father divorced 15 years and her wanting to invite her friends and my father outright demanding they not be invited yadda yadda It got to a stage where I said, sort it out between yourselves! From talking to others, the guest list is something that is always going to be a problem and it is hard to please everyone, just do your best and have who you want there, that is the main thing.

definitely the most stressful part of the whole wedding planning is the guest list - if you can get away with having it all sorted, done and dusted before informing family, all the better
just be prepared for some "discussions" - a wedding is a family affair, and everyone has an opinion and a sense of entitlement , so just be prepared!!

best of luck - it's a great time, happy planning!!:)

going to sort out the photographer this week and make the appointment with the registrar and then i think we are done except to tell the parents, we are thinking about january time.

starting to get excited now :o

No DJ required - all our friends are musicians, so going to have a few bands instead

    Photographer sorted

Once you have an approximate guest list, you'll know your numbers. Numbers will be important in choosing the right location for the type of wedding you want and that will fit all your party without being too large.
Booking the venue was by far the biggest job for us. The guest list came together very quick, but finding the perfect place was harder. We loved some intimate country house venues but they were too small for our numbers, so it was really important to know how many we'd have to the wedding, the ceremony etc...
