    Hi All,

I had been signing on in since June on a casual basis(I have a part time job at weekends) and had been waiting on a decision until last week as I was been means tested. It resulted in been refused based on my parents income.
Since June I have been applying for jobs and internship programmes. I have just found out I have been sucessful in one of the internships. This will mean me moving out of home for the job.
I still have time to appeal the decision as if Im not eligible for the dole I wont be eligible for the intership. Maybe I'm been naive but with me moving out is there grounds for appeal?

    Any help is appreciated.

In a nutshell no. The decision you will be appealing will be the circumstances relating to your current claim and nothing to do with what is happening in the future. Under your current claim you are living at home and your parents income is relevant.

    Thanks for the reply eastbono.
I thought as much to be honest, if I do move ou and take up the intership I assume I'll have to put in a new claim and wait another few months without any payment.
Taking up the internship dosen't make any financial sence but it's a really good company with possible employement afterwards.

If you take up the internship you can apply for jobseekers allowance but as you will not be available and looking for work due to the internship you will not qualify. You are in a catch 22 situation.
