Hi. I have a 2006, 2.0tdi passat 140bhp. Recently i have noticed that there is a loss of power to it. My wife normally drives the car (I have a van), when accelerating, there seems to be no turbo kick. It just accelerates as normal without any sign of a turbo kick/boost at 2100rpm's approx as there was.
I was advised to try a new air flow meter as this could be the problem, or to get it connected to a diagonistic computer. I am living in the naas area of kildare, does anyone have any ideas or have knowledge of anyone in this area that has a computer that i could bring the car to to get it check.

Really wrecking my head as I have to be away with work for the next 9 weeks from sunday night to friday evening and afraid it will get worse and leave my wife sitting with a school run and no car.

    Thanks.

might be a split vacuum hose. Or a pipe may have popped off the intercooler.

Can you not bring it to your mechanic to check it for you? If you're a member on vagdrivers.net there should be someone in your area who could scan your car?

If the air mass sensor is at fault, disconnecting it should cure the loss in power. I'm not sure about your model but on the older cars, it was on the drivers side of the engine bay. (I cant find any helpful pictures on google, someone may have a picture lying about?!)

I don't know if disconnecting the MAF works.

I did it on my 03 Golf just to see if it would work and it went into limp mode straight away

Maybe it's different with the newer ones, might be no harm trying though

    Thanks for all the helps.
Got someone here in naas to put in on the computer for me. (very nice person, if you need his details contact me)
Seems the problem is the wiring loom going to the injectors. Seems to be a common problem with this engine model. (BKP) HAve to book it in for a diagnostic with vw to see can it be covered under a vw repair as this is a very common manufacturing fault. Research on this has shown a major probelm with them and over in the UK, VW Group (uk only) have agreed to do all repairs free of charge for people with this engine who have injector problems. Hopefully same outcome over here or will have to take it further.

The above link gives plenty of info.

Ill post and let know how i get on with the garage.

Dave, search the main motors forum, there is a few threads about that problem and maybe get some idea how to approach VW

I've found the main one on the motoring section.
I've contacted the RSA, and about to contact VOSA about it. Lets see how it goes.
Seems that VW Ireland have a terrible customer service compared to VW UK.

    Lets wait and see.
