Hey everyone, im currently in search for a good laptop for the last 2 months and I haven't really found what I'm looking for. It has to do my college work (studying Journalism and need alot of memory 4 to 8 GB) but also it must have a HD screen to play movies and can play the sims 3 using the highest settings. I was considering a mac but I don't know much about them. Im currently using a hp dv6 which is a piece of s***! It overheats all the time and always gave me trouble. So if anyone has any suggestions on what you think I should get, please tell me! (No hps please!) Also Im looking to spend between €800 to €1900 or so.

    Maggie

Well with a budget like that you could easily afford this...http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5750G_1119850.html
Which would quite frankly do all your needs and above...maybe you could reduce your budget and get the job done for less?

    Hey Maggie,

You would be insane to spend that on a laptop given your requirements! Half that would be the absolute highest i would pay. In reality something costing 600 would more than meet your needs for the next 4 years.

Yeah after careful consideration a mac would be a no no! It costs way too much! I like the look of the Acer thanks for that! Would you recommend acer? My aunt has one and its extremely slow so I'm not sure about it!
Alanstrainor I know but I wanted the best quality laptop! lol
I was also condersing a dell but from past experience Im not sure!
Im pretty hard to please! :P

    Yo,

Sims 3 on highest settings (high Frames Per Second) actually needs a decent Graphics card,

    €675
    €708
    €719
    €730
    €766

they'll do nicely, more than enough, different spec'd yokes there, Blu-rays and what not since you have the budget, read reviews before buying anything.
