It's disappointing for counties like Meath, Kildare and Carlow to be excluded from the minor hurling, granted they would never in a million years win it, but the experience and extra games (and training for those games) could only help develop the hurlers in those counties.

Were Meath and Carlow not in this years championship? Could have sworn they were. Backward step if they're not gonna be in next years championship

Meath, Carlow, Kildare and Wicklow were all in the past few championships, they participated in the early rounds but have been dropped for some reason. This is a major backwards step as it gives these counties extra competition early in the year in preparation for the all ireland minor B later. Presumably they won't be allowed enter the league either, meaning these counties could only have ONE competitive game next year.
