Just a quick query on dish size for Digiturk.
I used to be able to pick it up fairly well on my motorised 1m Gibertini but am changing to multifeed now.
Anyone know what sized dish is required to pick up most of the Europe B beam channels in Cork ?

hi m8,I have a 1.1 triax and i just scanned in 7e to check signal level and the horizontals are coming in at signal 73 quality 74
Verticals are coming in at signal 71 quality 62,
i could tweak the elevation on the dish to get another 2 or 3 pc but thats about it,i would say that if it were fixed instead of motorised it could be tweaked even more
1 also have an 85cm dish and im getting 78sig and 75qlty on the same horiz transponder with a tm 1500 ci+
the triax 1.1 is ran by a spiderbox and the signal and quality seems to be understated a bit and i know from experience that the technomate although a great unit gives false high readings on the signal readings, for example on the spider the signal wont pixalate until it drops below 44 wheras the technomate can lose signal when it drops below 55,going on my readings you might lose some transponders in heavy rain with an 85cm but should keep most but the bigger is always better as you know,my location is east cork and the weather at the moment is light cloud, regards

Thank you Minterno for that detailed reply and the effort you put in ,its very helpful and appreciated.

It would seem an 80cm is the minimum required ,85 or larger for reliable viewing so.
Interesting about the signal readings differing from receiver to receiver, on my enigma 1 Dreamboxes the lowest snr to get a lock is 71% .
My Dm800 on the other hand works down to ~24% snr .

no bother, the cheapest of my recievers also give the best signal readings, its the one from the lidl camping set sl65 i think, its in the attic now but when the sig quality drops below 50 on the button the picture pixalates.also a good signal tone for when tweaking the dish, regards
