I'd like to say I'm very sorry to see Phil Leigh go. I think he's done a good job in difficult circumstances. I think he and Cycling Ireland have been hit unfairly by budget cuts especially.
Good luck to him and I hope he stays active in the sport.

    Conor

Presumably if Phil thinks he's taken it as far as he can this will be taken as an opportunty to review the role to see if there's a way it can be taken further

I'm guessing resources will be further limited, which may impact on the calibre of candidates to be considered (both in terms of pay, and the facilities available within the system to give them what they may want to do the job)

OK lads - post you're CVs here and we'll pre-screen them for CI...:D

Wonder did he get a pay off?
Is this the sort of information you would divulge (or would expect your former employer to divulge) if you left a job? Maybe it's best to turn up at the AGM and ask the question directly;)

As CI is funded by the public purse would it not also be subject to a freedom of information request?

Nope. It only covers state bodies.

I don't know, but I do know there are privacy laws that also need to be considered (you cannot even find out how much a house has sold for in this country) - as I asked already, is this the sort of information you would be happy to divulge about yourself?

Also, as I've already stated, you could always ask the question at the AGM - I'm sure the Board will be in a position to indicate if the can divulge it at that time

Generally with an employment contract, if the employer breaks it the employee is entitled to compensation, if the employee breaks it they are not. Other than the impact on the finances of Cycling Ireland, I'm not sure why anyone really needs to know this information

    Wonder why?

Wonder did he get a pay off?

if his contract finished - no
if he finished his contract no
if he and CI came to some arrangement - possibly
if ci finished his contract probably yes

B to answer your question - would I be happy to divulge about myself:

it would depend on conditions of entering the contract I suppose!!, wouldn't you think?!?

Has any more information come into the public realm on the departure of PL since?

No, have come across nothing more in the public realm.

Never heard of that band and don't have the patience to listen to that video.

Did a search for the lyrics, couldn't find them.

So can you elaborate on your metaphor?

    Thanks

Well I had asked on this thread earlier was there a pay off but the mods have addressed this here to some extent so I doubt it can be elaborated on.

I was also wondering was there any more on why he left? Was it a budgetary issue?

Would CI have the capabilities to continue the projects he established/ran/proposed or will some have to be abandoned/scaled down?

Would he be replaced or would a few people cover the scope of what he was doing?

Also, on a personal level, I'm just wondering is he gone to some other role? There may be opportunities for him back in the UK with the Olympics next year and the fresh positivity of Cav's Worlds win?

Again, all of this may well not be in the public realm and that's fair enough. I should be out on my bike really but hey!

essentially his duties will be taken over by a few people. I dont know what he is going on to tbh I am sure he has some business interests in the UK.

The Hp budget has fallen from 415k to 250k although the ISC have put a lot of money into cycling over the years.

Can you say who is doing what from here on yet?

All CI's money from government comes through ISC yeah?

It hasnt been finalised as yet. The duties vary from selection to making submissions for carding/funding. The CEO would have been doing some of this with PL already so I assume this will transfer to him.

I have no doubt all of this will be addressed in the very near future or at the AGM.

I presume this wil be an extra source of funding for British Cycling, but who'll gain the most, CI or BC?
