Ahh it takes more than a jacket to make you play better .. they are 100% waterproof, so if yer concentration is being disrupted with rivers of water flowin down yer back then you have 1 less thing to worry about .. this may prevent you from playing worse ...as to improving yer game .. nah they don't .. oh get yerself a paclite shell cap while yer at it ..

    Isn't that a jacket with sleeves ? .. double negative !!

    Half sleeve maybe ?

I think its a jacket with 4 sleeves. Don't go for the 4 sleeve option as it will probably impact your swing.

Yeah i ment half sleeve. I was in Mcguirks to try them for size before buying online. Just can't decide which one to get.

I bought the half sleeve paclite from golfstore for 137 euro I think it was. It just suited me better than the cramped up feeling of a full sleeve jacket. Winter months I'd wear under armour beneath the top

I would rather not see this type of advertising on boards, it's very convenient the way you want a Galvin Green jacket. not only that to then defame McGuirks and promote "a uk website". And then to imply that the jacket will make you play better ..

    I call shenanigans ... :p

Not too sure how you could classify this as defamation of McGuirks on the basis that people can source all manner of golf gear cheaper on the internet than from a retail outlet tbh

I have a GG order in limbo with golfstoreeurope at the minute as they are listing inventory as available on their website and they are in fact discontinued by GG and no longer available, I'm onto my third choice of jacket as neither of the first two I selected from the GSE website is actually available.
    Third time lucky hopefully....
If only GSE had a phone number to avoid protracted email traffic....

I woundnt buy this on line-its a bit of an expensive purchase. Buy on line all the time but this might be a bit steep for that

Sounds.......too good to be true. What was this - a bank distress sale ?

Couldn't see any reference to it on Adverts 'Sold' items either - seller mustn't have had a clue about the brand or its value.

Nice find brother .... thought they'd recalled all them blue ones ... rash disappears after 2 weeks they say ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 637 ✭✭✭pauldoo

class! that guy would have got more than 25 quid for that, handy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭bustercherry

Was it not a bit cheeky offering 20? ;) Considering you knew it was worth quite a bit more than the asking price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 848 ✭✭✭Kace

Standard Adverts etiquette - never pay full price ;)

Maybe its just me but to come back on boards boasting about it seems poor form to be honest

Deco chill out:confused: I'm not boasting about anything just stating that I picked up a bargain on adverts,I happened to get lucky that's all,I payed the asking so the seller was happy, build a bridge and get over it!!!;)

I'm cool out fella - just giving my opinion

Are we not gentlemen of golf? It COULD be argued that you took advantage of an unsuspecting seller. It COULD be argued that you then tried a sneaky little bid to get the item even cheaper and then to top it all off you piggyback a genuine thread to boast about your find having a little laugh and giggle.

how do you reconcile this with the behavior that is expected of you on the golf course?

Don't touch them with a barge pole. Had experience similar to these reviews (scroll down through them), as did several people I've spoken to.

    http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews-all-238997.html

    From first page of reviews:

    "The worst online store ever"
    "118Golf = POOR"
    "DO NOT USE 118golf.co.uk"
    "COMPLETE DISGRACE"
"Still waiting for shoes. 6 weeks. "
"No response to emails, no delivery after promises, awful "
"Do not use under any circumstances"

Thoroughly agree after my experience with them.

They removed their phone-number from their web-site a couple of years ago, looks like there is still no phone contact provided. If a site won't provide a phone number, don't deal with them.

    Rant over.

Just on this comment, got a phone call from GSE this morning and they are supplying me with a new range jacket and covering the price difference, still have to wait another week but good customer service I think
