    Sure according to d'Wikipedia n all that Daithi be only having a BA and them went on ta be a litterarary scolar!!

    Well versed admittedly!!

    I wonder what d'loikes of d'Leopold Bloom n all that wud make of it, him running as d'President in all in anyways??

    Serious question is do the qualifications of the candidates matter?

    For some reason I had in my head DN was a barrister or like, turns out he ain't.

    I really don't know but usually a doctorate is to a high standard unless it is honoury or of the tyoe that Ian Paisley has.

    I had assumed that he would have been a professor at Trinity but now I wonder what was his precise status ? Was he just a lecturer for a few years or a full professor with tenure ?

    No it is a simple question of what his acadenic qualifications were !
    It is not at all controversial !

    One of the good things about Wiki is that many articles have references which can be very useful for further study.
    The other good thing is that neither the irish times nor the Sunday Independent can apply their censorship to it.

    Stephen Collins of the IT has supplied the answer:
    " He taught in the university between 1968 and 1996, though he never obtained post-graduate qualifications after studying for a BA."

    He would find it hard to get a job now as a lecturer with only a BA.
