I have never being in this Forum before so move/delete if necessary...

I was asked to see if I could find the above, a non-firing Colt, Lad wants to hang it on a Wall like an Ornament:confused: (odd to me).

    Any ideas?

You'd be better off with an Airsoft version of the same - it'll set you back circa €150 for a full metal version. Don't get me wrong, you can get good quality spring powered ones for cheaper, but the GBB Co2 ones look great, and should he ever wish to fire it, he can.

As far as I know owning deactivated firearms is rather...tricky. I'm not 100% on that, but I just remember reading about it's awkwardness

Yes, I'll check them out. If they don't suit him, I'll look for something else.

You'll have to forgive me for being a total noob on the subject, just had a quick first look last night.

where you based? there are a lot of retailers dotted around the country you could visit and have a proper look at the pistols.

which model colt you looking for? when you say "colt 45" most people assume your looking for a 1911.

I think he means a Colt SAA. 45's were popular and common in US civil era Colts. Others like the Walker were .44's but often called .45's, and were arguably more famous because they were cap-and-ball type, not casing, so they were pretty distinctive looking.

If it is an SAA (Single Action Army) you're after, you'll be looking at a pretty penny. They're available, but they're not easy to find sometimes, are usually pretty expensive and almost always plastic.
Have a search for Colt SAA or Colt Peacemaker and see if that's the one you're after first.

Best of luck on that one...it took me roughly around a year to get my hands on my Marushin SAA Peacemaker. They look and feel great, but performance is not...um...fantastic. For decent performance (shooting), you sacrifice some realism - the Tanaka Works Cassiopeia; infinitely more skirmishable, but not quite as much fun
