Villain 3.0 or Cyanogen Stable for SGS 2?

    I want to upgrade my ROM and am in two minds whether to stay with Villain and just upgrade from 1.4 to the latest and greatest 3.0 or should I switch all together and try CyanogenMod?

    The big big feature I like in Villain is the tweak which prevents the device shouting out at 3am in the morning that the battery is full - seriously annoying.

    CyanogenMod seems to have far more tricks up it's sleeve and looks much more polished but I don't think it has a battery full type tweak.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Just installed VR 3.0 on my S2 last night, been using 2.4.2 since i got the S2. Ive never really liked CM, always seemed to be too many "bells and whistles" on it. I do like VR, its very stable, the Villain Tweaks app is very handy, already installed 2 tweaks from it on it and waiting for the circlemod theme to be updated for 3.0

    Id recommend VR, its basically a stock Samsung ROM (the stock Samsung roms have some handy features such as Kies Air and All Share) with less Samsungyness (Better kernels, few things Samsung disabled, reenabled, things like that)

    Thanks Meesared, my head is saying stick with VR for the very reasons you state but the devil in me likes the idea of all the bells and whistles CM looks like it has. Specifically, do you know if CM has a inbuilt feature for turning off the full battery alarm? That's seriously annoying and will keep me loyal to VR if CM doesn't have it or an equivalent. What other bells and whistles does it have that you didn't like? Did they affect either speed, signal or battery performance?

    CM haven't released a stable version for the SGS 2 (not even an RC versions available yet from what I can tell) so I might just upgrade to VR 3.0 and wait until a stable CM is issued before flipping the coin to see if I switch over to it.
