    Hi all,

Apparently I don't take enough holidays in work so I've a few to use up before xmas :)

Looking to go on a short trip (3/4 days) somewhere in europe.

Not the UK or Paris as I've been there, and not Krakow, Prague or Munich as I've plans for there next year. Somewhere unusual would be cool.

    Any suggestions ? :)

As cheap as possible too ;) and I do like the odd beer :D

San Sebastian? Everyone I've known who's been to Lisbon has really enjoyed it. Madrid is a cheap enough city to travel around, some good bars and nightlife.

Berlin is a great great city for a weekend too.

Rome is great for a few days. Weather in Oct/Nov also lovely. Not so great for beers but plenty of Chianti!

fascinating history? Antwerpen, the most overlooked city in the world or wlse Gent.

Both are beautiful with lots to keep you busy in the morning until it is late enough to sample the Belgian brews. However one word of warning. "just one for the road" is really two if you are drinking double strength beers ;)

there are lots of museums, art and general history in both cities, Both have a good university so there will be something intersting going on at all times due to the fact that students do nothing except put on shows and stuff. They both have quite a number of fantastic bars and cafes for watching the world go by. Neither is expensive but other than the beer not particularly cheap either.

Need to know any more. I worked there as a tour guide in the spring for the last three years. I couldn't reccomend either city more for a couple of days away.

Turin....dark and mysterious but amazing culture. No English/American tourists asking where the nearest MickDonalds is

Barcelona.... Bad girl snowflake... enough said

    For beer, Germany or Belgium.

    For cheap, the Baltics.

If you do have a few quid spare, hit Stockholm.
