I've seen this video recently and I was really shocked :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqVXG4FMw38&feature=related

-especially the part when he is older and preaching..

To me it looks more like he is possessed then anything else and I think this should not be legal! Those people are crazy.

(if there was a thread about it already just remove it)

He isn't possessed. But i am afriad that the parents are making do some things he doesnt want to, since they are his parents he will blindy follow what they say. It's sad really.

The kid is going to be loaded when he's older.

Not justifying it but if he continues preaching in those churches he'll be a multi-millionaire before he hits puberty. Then he'll have the cash to do whatever he wants.

Intelligent kid as well, learning how to manipulate the masses just by observing some preachers.

I don't see the big problem with this all honesty. Young kids get taught many different things at this age to pass on to future generations when they get older. This is no different.

There was a documentary on this kid on TV a few weeks ago.

Pretty weird alright. If he was 5 or 6 I'd imagine it could be taught and learnt, but he is very young in that footage holding the microphone.

I don't feel sorry for him. From the documentary I saw he loved doing it and looked forward to it.

Do you think child this age understands what is doing?

Well for one, this kid doesn't fully understand what he's doing. Watch his mannerisms (the wiping of the napkin and hand motions).

    Celebrity evangelist in the making.

Anyone else think he looks a bit like a pint-sized George Bush?:o

Yeah, he knows he is preaching. He said in the documentary that he loved doing it.

Was a really fascinating documentary actually.

Imagine introducing scary religious concepts to a tiny defenceless child.
Anyway. Must dash and collect my kid from the only school for miles around where he will be ending the day with a prayer. Bless!:)

    Actually:mad::eek:

More than likely it's the same idea as those beauty pageants; moronic parents living their failed dreams thorugh their child.

Yeah, he knows he is preaching.

Sure he does... but does he understand what does it mean really.. anyway, to me this kind of preaching even done by adults is something I don't understand -there is no message, no meaning just this crazy attitude - it's like they are hypnotizing those people!

    That's exactly what they're doing.

Yeah, he wipes the brow about a minute after starting. I think he knows he is preaching but he is repeating phrases over and over.

    The red hot revival :D

What's with the  Preaching is talking the word of God. I think he knows he is doing that.

Why would he not know what he is doing or understand it? Young kids play football at this age or learn to play the flute or drum. It is the same thing.

At age I don't think he even understands the concept of God.

I'm sure he could tell you what the word means but the concept is presumably beyond the comprehension of a 4 or 5 year old.

He's probably been brought up hearing about the concept of God from birth so I'd say he has more of an understanding than most kids.

I don't believe he knows everything he is saying but i think he knows the concept of what he is doing - or trying to do :p

There was also a bit in the documentary about this kid in the 80s I think that was a famous preacher and admitted years later it was all a scam to make money. Can't remember his name now... but he was American and pretty famous.

To be honest I don't think most adults fully grasp the concept either. They use words to describe it but a metaphysical being is, almost by definition, beyond comprehension.

Playing football is equal to understanding God? Really? Thats why I dont understand both.... :pac:

Well, obviously God is different things to different people, a higher being or whatever, the world's creator etc etc. I'd imagine this kid knows this, whether he fully understands it is doubful, but I think he has some idea of what he is doing. I also think he has watched a lot of footage of preachers and is copying them ;)

    Yup...you nailed it.
