both! It's €2, hardly going to break the bank.
Law Soc is ratified, and ELSA isn't, but ELSA is international, whereas Law Soc isn't.
But really, there's nothing stopping you joining both, and I would wholeheartedly recommend joining both.

There's nothing which says you can't join a soc and then ignore them completely - or only participate in one event - God knows I've done that plenty of times.
There's no harm in joining both, unless you're going to get really, really mad about getting e-mails from them both.

From my experience, ELSA put on fewer talks and don't run a moot court, wheres the law soc put on talks and nights out and a trip away and the Law ball, as well as running the Silken Thomas Cup, which is Maynooth's own intervarsity moot court. They've also got the Golden Thread, which is a sub-society underneath the Law Soc, which prints a law newsletter once or twice a semester (did you get the student survival guide yet? It's very important you get a copy! :pac:)
ELSA might not seem to run as many events on campus, but they will give you access to internships abroad, which I haven't seen the Law Soc doing. They're offering different things, different objectives, and you'll probably benefit from joining both.
    Hope that helped. :)

You did help me a lot. I will go for a Law Soc. I've seen the finals of the Silken Thomas Cup last year. It was great!

The student survial guide was distributed during Monday's lecture so everyone who was there has the copy of it :)

Everything How So Joe said. Join both!

Law Soc is a lot more casual while ELSA is more aimed at the professional side of law! They're quite different in that respect.

Also, neither have regular meetings and you won't have to attend everything anyway!

They now also appear to get on with each other! :D
