FUl auto problem !

    have a ca army m4 here , but sometimes it will fire in full auto when the battery is plugged in ? , as soon as i plug the battery in it starts firing , and even stranger when i switch it from safe to semi it will fire once !!!??! :confused: im fairly competent at maintaining guns , and i opened it up and cant find a single thing wrong ! , , it works fine sometimes but this problem could be potentially dangerous ! , any ideas ?? thanks in advance guys !

    It definately sounds like a short circuit or something similar. Did you change and of the wiring at all? If so check your connections are all firmly in place and check the contacts on the switch assembly, they might have gotten bent and are nearly touching (spread them apart a little). Thats all i can think of at the moment

    the wiring is stock yeah i checked that but still nothing :confused: im gonna replace the wiring and see if there is any difference !

    As Soberts said, you have a short somewhere in the circuit. Go over all the wiring with a fine tooth comb and you should find the issue.

    It is firing when you flick to semi as the spring for the safety arm is shorting the two contact points and completing the circuit. To fix it, make sure the soldered joint is as small and compact as possible so that it does not touch off the spring.

    yup found a big ol gap in the insulation :( was indeed shorting . sigh ... the joy of find out what wrong and then having to fork out for a new part !!
