Sink Basket - Drain Pipe Question?

    Hi folks,

I was hoping someone might be able to help with this query -

This morning I noticed that the drain pipe beneath the sink had become free of the sink/sink basket.

The sink basket itself has also become free of the sink.

Looking at the sink basket there is no thread on it that connects to the waste pipe below. Nor does there seem to be anything on the drain pipe that connects it directly to the sink basket.

I am at a loss as to how this was all held together to begin with. Surely it wasn't dependant on simply some sealer? That being said both the sink basket and the drain seem totally indepedant of each other.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Humm... seems there's a screw missing.

theres usally a threaded little bolt that goes through the metal grate from the topside and screws into the middle of the plastic waste underneath , its possibly the bolt rusted and snapped and got washed away .
Anyway this is a common part so bring it with you to local plumber provider and ask them for a similar replacement.
