Plenty of religious texts free on the internet, Bible, Koran etc. Everything from Buddhism to Zoroastrianism.

Is an online version ok for you? I highly recommend http://al-quraan.org/read-quran-online-c-4.html It has a nice introduction giving the meaning and background to each surah (chapter). I have a printed copy but they are hard to come by.

The online versions are great thanks!

Im hoping to find a physical book (like an actual book) as i love to collect books and i love to read about various religons, but im weary about buying books about islam bar the qur'an as i dont want to get the usual propaganda from all sides that is every where you look (both christian and Muslim). Basically i am looking for a book that will allow me to learn about islam without being heavily influenced by modern writers

I've added some material on English-language translations of the Qur'an to the Frequently Asked Questions sticky thread - follow this link.

In this site http://www.islamicity.com/ we can request a free copy of Holy Quran. Check a link in the bottom of the site.

This is quite a useful site, but it seems that you can order free literature, including the Qur'an, only if you live in the USA.

If you go to this site and click on Quran Search, you can read the original Arabic text in a clear script, a transliteration of the Arabic, and any of a selection of translations, including the English versions by Muhammad Asad, Abdullah Yusuf Ali, and Marmaduke Pickthall (you can have all three shown at the same time if you want). You can also access some recitations.

In Cork the classics section of Connolly's Bookshop on Paul Street has it and I'm sure I've seen it in Vibes and Scribes too (the Bridge Street branch). Only two or three euro as well.
