Are discount retail outlets really worth a visit?

I'm in need of clothes particularly work/office clothes. Would discount retail outlets really worth a visit?

Depends which outlet your talking about.

I find outlets only good for sports wear tbh.

It also depends on your size. Alot of outlets don't stock a full range of sizes..its usually left with the XS or the XXXL sizes.

I never find much. I've been to Woodbury and Las Vegas Premium Outlets as well as Kildare Village. I find the menswear is much better though as men's fashion changes less. Picked up some stuff for the boyf.

I did like the Kurt Geiger Outlet in Swindon in the UK though, good selection of shoes, could have bought a few.

The only things I find in outlets are things I could really have lived without.

I might try Kildare Village but I don't want to waste time if it's no good. I'm a size 8 and am mainly looking for office wear (but nothing too boring stuff).

To be honest, I'm a size 8 too and its the worst size when looking for things in outlets because it is quite a common size. If its just office wear I would definitely avoid an outlet. Just pop into Zara or H&M and you will find much more affordable things that you will actually wear. Kildare Outlet is great for the likes of Coast or L.K. Bennett, where you can pick up some fab dresses, but I certainly wouldn't go shopping for work stuff there when there are so many bargains in other places.:)

I thought they were meant to be cheap. Obviously not as cheap as H&M but surely you would be getting better quality!

Size 8 is a common size? it's all I ever see when I'm sale shopping! It must be some kind of scientific law: If you're a size 8-14 all you ever see is 18s and if you're a 16+ all you ever see is 8s :pac:

You would be surprised, cheap to you may not be cheap to me though!;) I think the idea is that if you saw something in a shop you really wanted, next season it would be in the outlet for a reduced price. Generally about 20/30% off, could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me. Have picked up a few things in the past from them, but have always gone into them knowing exactly what I want/need and never finding anything except things I could have done without! The joys of an apparent bargain! ;) Sure each to their own and all that.:)

I thought they were meant to be about 50% - 70% off!

The most I have ever got off an item of clothing there is about 50%, but again, I could be wrong about the discount, anyone know??

I just heard an advert for Kildare Village on the radio and it said 'up to 60% off RRP'.
