And if so, what are the differences from the Type R? Looking at one at the moment, but from the ad I can't be sure it is a Type R

I've seen them on the road a couple of times and if I'm honest, I don't like em at all. It's probably because the Type Rs are the more common and are far better looking. The regular ones look a little bit odd.

    Here's one http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201127203219661

In the pic it doesn't look too bad but in the metal, the suspension is higher, wheels are smaller and lost in the arches, doesn't have skirts, spoiler or splitter. Doesn't have Recaro interior, Momo steering wheel or Type R gearknob. It has 160hp instead of 220 also.

Insurance would be the only reason anyone would get one (I'd guess) but that red one has been on carzone now for quite some time so it ain't selling easy. So some of the money you'll save on Insurance, you'll lose when it comes time to move on.

Do yourself a favour, save a lil bit longer and get the Type R, or even get a DC2 Type R now!

I used to see one in DKIT quite a bit a while back that looked exactly like this:

    I wasn't a fan if I'm honest. And I'm quite a fan on the DC5!

Very rare but there are a couple in the country alright. Very easy to spot the difference - No recaros, no k20 engine, no brembo calipers, no rear spoiler, no HID lights.

Post the ad up and it will be pretty obvious!

You sure? I thought it was a K20, just a not very powerful one

Cheers, had a look at the one on Carzone and there's a huge difference all right!

Looking at this. I think it has been made up to look like a Type R but it actually isn't (to be fair, the seller isn't claiming it is, but you could charitably describe them as being vague about it, too.)

I know a girl that gor a Type R for around that price, same year too.

What age are you OP? Is insurance a big issue for you?

Insurance shouldn't be an issue, no, well over 21 at this stage :)

I've always liked the DC5 and I can now get a classic policy for the CRX, so I want to stop using it as a daily driver. DC5s are now at a price that's affordable so I'm looking for something seriously at the moment.

My insurance only went down this year to a reasonable amount on my Teg, I'm 24.

If insurance ain't an issue, then I can see no reason for getting the non-R :)

No recaros gives it away immediately anyway.

But you'd be mad to spend €6k on a Non Type R!!

Yep, no Recaros, no red Honda badge on the steering wheel and the dials are white, all indicate it's not an R

If it was the real deal at that price, I'd go and see it, but if it's not, I'm not even considering it.
