Ipad to Tv

Afternoon all - i have seen that it is possible to hook an Ipad to your tv and is wondering how to go about it - the tv i have is an old one (about 6 year) so it is a tube vrs a nice pretty sexy flat screen - i am wondering if this will hook up to the pad or do i need a new version tv as always thanks in advance
