    Hi All,

I put this message in the "How to Service a Car" but got nothing back, hope it's ok to put in here now.

I service (change oil, filters, etc) on my own Avensis and my brother's Golf but going to do my good ladyfriend's 2005 diesel vauxhall astra this week. Is there anything I should look out for or is it just a case of change the oil, new oil, fuel and air filters?

    Many thanks,

    SV

Yep they are straight forward enough. If they have a paper element type diesel filter then make sure the bowl into which it sits is properly drained and filled with a small drop of clean diesel. Make sure the O-ring seals (possible 2 of them, 1 big and 1 very small) are replaced with the new ones that come with the filter!
