Anyone know where to purchase these vent cards / rafter baffles?
they are used to maintain a ventilation gap down to the eaves when insulation is installed in an attic. spray foam installers use similar.

    Hi Cyborg
Any builders merchants will stock these. They are also known as RV Roll. They are also supplied by tegral / glidevale

Thanks guys, looks like there are a few different products with their own names rafter ventilation roll, eaves ventilation roll, raft-r-mate or rafter trays, the trays look like they might be the easiest to fit as the insulation will hold them in place

hi there. sorry for the resurrection, but wanted to use this quote with all the names in place.

i'm looking for a pack or roll of these vents, and i'm "baffled" ;). asked at my local builders supply where i bought the first rolls of attic insulation, and they had no idea what i was talking about (i tried saying "air flow" "baffles" "rafter vents" "vent roll") .. in the end he tried selling some lengths of pvc pipe .. which might do the trick to be honest.

i don't mind recycling old materials at all, and fashioning something that would work. someone on boards somewhere else suggested collecting old election posters and using those for the baffles. sounds like a good idea, but i see no posters around at the moment. i've loads of cardboard boxes lying around, but i want to use something moisture resistant.

anyway, i've checked the b&q site, checked woodies, even checked on adverts just to be sure! .. i have very limited time between full-time work hours to go hunting around town without a car to every known building/diy supply store for these vents (or something similar).

does anyone know where to buy them in/around city centre?

    Hi guys,
How did you get on with your rafter vents ?
    Thinking of doing same

Hi, besides being very difficult to source, there's probably no need to buy rafter vents. You can DIY these yourself. Just get some standard insulation board and cut them to size. E.g. a standard sheet of 8feet x 4feet would make 12 (2feet X 14.5inch) 'rafter vents'. 14.5inch being the standard space between rafters. A standard sheet of Quinnxxxx or Kingsxxx 8x4feet x 2inch is around €20. Aeroboard is much cheaper but messier. Just fit them tight between the rafters so they don't fall out and ensure you leave the 10mm air gap at the back. Then roll your insulation righ up to your 'Rafter vents'
    Michael
