    Hi folks,

johngalway and smccarrick have both had to step down (as mods of F&F not posters) for different real life reasons, so could you lend your support to Rovi, who's going to keep an eye on things going forward.

No doubt it'll be business as usual. :)

    Dades

I've been here since the very beginning of this forum 5 years ago:
    1st post!
I'm not the most prolific poster (by a long way!) here, but I've been lurking about all along.

I was a dairy farmer up to a couple of decades ago and for various reasons went over to sucklers/beef for a while. At or around a significant *0 birthday, I did the sums and made the decision to get out of livestock altogether, and now have the poor/middling part of the place under forestry and the rest under grass. The grass has been rented out for the last few years.

So, I suppose I'm kinda sorta semi-retired, but I'm very actively involved in the management and operation of my forestry and intend to continue doing so until my final interaction with it is getting nailed into a pine box made from one of my own trees. :D

I've always had a soft spot for a nice Sim X suckler cow.
There's just something 'right' about them.

Ironically I just recently (by pure coincidence) came across a contractor in Roscommon town with an enormous amount of (liquidation stock) 8' high powder-coated galvanised security fencing which they are selling off @ €25 per 8' x 10' sheet. Fantastic stuff, heavy duty. Pallets and pallets of the stuff too.

When I remembered it and went back to that thread to mention it, the thread had gone nuclear! I decided to tiptoe away.....move along.....nothing to see here......

    Anyway, back to topic.
