    Hey guys,

Just a quick question as it's annoying me so, so much. In the new film Drive there's a piece of instrumental music i can't find the name of, and it sounds really familiar, probably used in other films too. One scene in particular where it springs to mind is where he's in the elevator kissing your one with the hitman standing beside them. Can anyone please help me out??

    Thanks! :D

A very wild stab in the dark but is it this

    http://www.amazon.com/Wrong-Floor/dp/B005GSY3C2

The only track listed that could have anything to do with an elevator :p

I'm assuming you're talking about the version of the film which leaked in recent days and not the one in cinemas. If so then I think it's a piece of score from either 28 Days Later or Traffic. All the music is temp, hence the use of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's Social Network score through out the film.

Two songs from the movie that stuck in my head for days, guarenteed one of these is what your looking for.

Could you explain that more to me?

This is the piece of music you are looking for:

When editing a film rarely will the score be completed and as such directors/editors score the footage they are cutting to existing music. The version of Drive that leaked on line is a screener copy of an earlier unfinished cut of the film in which the temp soundtrack is used. If watch the opening credits of the screener Angelo Badalamenti is credited with scoring the film when in fact it was Cliff Martinez who scored the finished product.

    Interesting, thanks for that man.

Don't think I've ever replayed a song so many times in one day. Simply awesome

I came on here to ask that very question and found this topic at the top of the films page.

    Weird!

Anybody know the song played at the end? When
His burd is knocking on the door and hes just driving off into the night, just before the credits roll

I should just get the soundtrack really, wasn't a song that made me annoyed.

    Soundtrack is awesome.

Must get a hold of it. Though I already own the KAvinsky track. (did a little squeal when the movie opened)

Yeah, it's a piece of score from 28 Days Later towards the end of the film and I think it also used throughtout the movie in pieces. I always enjoyed the mood of the score from 28 Days Later.

The Kavinsky and College tracks remind me a lot of Air. In fact, I could have swore the Kavinsky track was Air until I read this thread.

I found the lyrics for Nightcall but I can't find the lyrics for the backing singer during the verses. What is he singing? I can't make it out. Sounds like "?? of love"

Anyone? It's driving me crazy! I love this song.

I watched this last night and it was really great, but what is it with trailers these days? I didn't watch any promo material before watching this, but when I looked it up on youtube later the 'teaser' spoils the whole fooking thing. Apes had the same problem. It's ridiculous.

I think it happens when the studio are worried about a movie, they try and over sell it. It's only garaunteed hits like TDK that have the luxury of not showing entire plots in their trailers these days.

I was in the cinema a few times before Drive came out and whenever the trailer came on I just zoned out and looked away from the screen. Tend to do that for most trailers these days and I find it's the best policy!

Yup. Just take out your phone and flick through it for a few moments if you desperately need something to distract yourself.

Picking your fingernails is another good option.

Ah, so it's you who does that. Pistols at dawn?

Never during a film (that means you're an asshole), only during the particularly spoilerific trailers! Looking around blankly trying to distract yourself can be a bit awkward.

I can see where you're coming from, but there may be someone behind you who wants to see the trailer. You're still being inconsiderate.

I think you'll find that it's the trailer that's being inconsiderate.

I'm fully willing to agree that both whoever cut the trailer and johnny_ultimate are both spoiling people's evenings. Or spoiling something, anyway.

So basically we're all agreeing, johnny_ultimate is ruining cinema. Got it. :pac:

Yeah, I do tend to piss people off when I break into impromptu Mexican Waves at various dramatic junctures.

I don't really mind phones being glanced at during a few trailers - it's no big deal imo. The 20 minutes of trailers used to annoy me but recently I've thought that if they went on for something like 40 minutes then it'd end the constant munching and rustling of junk food during the actual film.

I always have my phone out during the trailers. I don't really care if anyone has a problem with it. They are just trailers, mostly for sh*t films, and at least I don't do it during the film itself. Unlike some people who hold their phone up to eye level in the middle of the film as if they are deliberately trying to annoy everyone.

Anyway phone users get too much flak. I don't find them nearly annoying as those stupid people who arrive into the cinema 10-15 minutes late and decide they want that seat in the middle of the row and proceed to force 10 people to stand up so they can get to it. You are late and the film has already started! F**k off and sit up the front! Or better yet, sit on the floor. Don't disturb the people who got here on time and had to sit through the sh*tty trailers!
