I have been told that there are bargains to be had holidaying in greece. I'm planning to go somewhere with friends for after leaving cert.

Can anyone confirm whether these bargains are really there or is just a small reduction in price even. From what I've seen it's nothing extraordinary.

avoid it , the pricks keep striking on air traffic control , or going on go slows
i had to sit on the tar mac for two hours coming back, and made my connecting flight home by 1 minute to spare.

if you dont fly direct from dublin you will likely miss your connecting flight at some stage .

one island had nine flights cancelled one morning , thats nearly 2000 people stuck in an airport that can hold 200 ,

also they are doing their best to rip people off in restuaraunts , bars etc

    its gone seriously downhill

i used to love greece but they can shove it up their holes now .

I also thought long and hard about visiting Greece, but for the foreseeable future I don't think it's a good idea sadly. I've been keeping tabs on the situation over there for a while now and although it's not as bad as sensationalized in the media, there are seemingly persistent problems with strikes that affect transport.

Even a small ATC strike has a ripple effect across Europe and can cause mayhem, so a few ATC workers can cripple the plans of thousands fairly easily. They can't be denied their right to strike, but as a tourist you have to make a decision whether it's worth the risk of getting stuck out there. Not for me, thanks.

hmm been in Greece this year, was flyin via UK (flights on the same day within 4 hrs) and didnt get any trouble or slightest delay, prices in the resort were attractive too, Maybe I got lucky...Greece is beautiful, in general the biggest pain is the fact that there are almost no direct flights from Ireland if you want to organize the hols yourself

Had a brilliant trip from latedeals.ie to Kefalonia this year, will be looking for the same next year. Last minute.com is not as good.
