Sky Go from IPad to TV

Bought the adapter to connect IPad to TV via HDMI & tried to watch Sky Sports on the box.
Got an error stating "HDMI out is not supported from this this application".

You can listen to the games through Apple TV but no display.

Anyone know of a way around Sky's monopoly ???

Jailbreak IPad > get tv mirror out from cydia > get resupported from cydia

Jailbreak IPad > get tv mirror out from cydia > get resupported from cydia

    No idea how to jailbreak.
What does this do for me / or what's the downside ?

Just download the cydia app off jailbreakme.com

you can change settings and get some cool stuff in the cydia store

Do some reearch first...jailbreak is brilliant, but you need to know what you are doing.

It is a pitty that the sky go subscription is such a ripp off, I would be getting it otherwise.

No. If I go into the appstore on iTunes, the Sky Go is app is free.

Yes but the poster was ranting that the Sky Go app was a ripoff. It isn't. In fact it is a brilliant addition if you are a Sky subscriber.

Mirroring will be an ios5 feature, but its likely to be ipad 2 compatible only. Its expected that the ios5 update will be available from next Tuesday evening

For what its worth, I think the Sky Go app is great.

The cost of the subscrption if you do not have sky is extremely expensive. That's what I am saying...

Same as Whimsical...there is a brother here up for grabs, you just need to have Sky (and not to have an ipad :)

Has this changed at all with the release of iOS 5 which should mirror the display by default unless the app developer specifies otherwise?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 135 ✭✭dts1

    No, i'm afriad not.
    The same error message... ;-(

Thanks. So its up to Sky to now not disable this option. Unlikely no?

    Seems so alright.
I heard it works from the laptop ok

Yeah, but they can't block that. I fear they will never allow it from the iPad.
