Hi, hope someone can give some advice about this problem. A friend of mine has a Canon EOS 300, he says it was working fine all along but now when he puts in a new roll and closes the back, the film rewinds straight away back into the cartridge. Is there anything simple he should check before sending it in to be repaired ? Thanks.

Assuming there isn't a quick fix I'd image an hour of labour spent repairing the camera would exceed the cost of a replacement body.

Looking on eBay they seem to sell as low as £10 (GBP).

Are you sure he actually has a problem. I had one of these and if i recall correctly when you load a film it winds it all the way to the end and then exposes the frames in reverse order.
Handy feature if you accienatally open the back (:() as your exposures are already in the can.

his problem is that it seems to pull the leader into the cartridge straight away, rather than unspooling the entire roll.

Hi again. Yes magicbastarder that is correct. Camera seems to think roll is finished or something and instantly rewinds. I gave my friend the advice given on the forum and he will have a go of it. Will post the results. Thanks again.
