Does anyone know if I have to take my car in for it's NCT re-test myself or can someone else take it for me? I took it in for the first test myself, but the re-test is during work hours and it's inconvenient!

Yes anyone can bring the car in for the retest, just make sure they bring identification as they can sometimes ask for this.
