Hyperspin - Mame\Zinc Question

This question is in relation to getting those "3D" type games going on Hyperspin.

Im using MAME as my main emulator, but due to the way thats built it doesnt run those 3D games well, slowness, bad sound etc.

Zinc on the other hand runs them fine. Currently i have hyperspin jump into my "Favourites" folder when i select Arcade. The only two options i have on my wheel is "Arcade" and "Jukebox".

I dont really want to have another one called Zinc, even if i can rename it to 3D Arcade or something.

Is it possible to have all my games listed in My Favourites when i launch my "Arcade" off the wheel, but have those 3d games launch with Zinc instead of Mame??

My understanding of the way Hyperspin works is that it's one folder/wheel = one system/emulator, at least in its current version anyway (certain people are testing version 2.0 at the moment and apparently it has some very interesting and useful features indeed).

I guess you could enable what you're looking for with some advanced coding/scripting in the .ahk file but its probably a lot of work and not worth it to be honest.

Maybe ask over on the hyperspin forums?

Hey steve, ive done a bit of reading in the hour since i posted this and turns out it is possible, you just edit the xml file and put in <exe>zinc</exe> for the paticular game you want to run with zinc. ill try it out and see how it goes, i just want the 3d ones working off the one setup.

Cool, so you make the changes on a per game setting?

Yeh, theres a bit more to it, like you create the wheel etc for say zinc and it creates an ini file, copy that or something and add it into another ini, then edit the xml on a per game basis and once thats done you delete the wheel. something along that line anyways, its "do-able" though.

You have to create a new wheel entry and then add all the media and images. recently added Atomiswave and Naomi and they run 100%. I could send you the config files and emus etc - except the media/artwork because it's over 2 GB!

Or you could just cheat and google "UG hyperspin"..

ive been messing with it for an hour trying to get it going. my head is wrecked!! Ill start again fresh later its all over the place now! I just want them all in the same place, thats no too much to ask is it! haha.
