A dentist should be better equipped to understand the correlation between the toothache and the sore throat and can work on the cause of the issue (the tooth). They can also prescribe pills if needed.

If the sore throat is due to an infection in a tooth then best see a dentist to treat the infection. Resolution of the sore throat will follow treating its cause. It should be noted that most sore throats are viral.
