    Hi There,

I am in the process of buying a 3 bed semi detached house in South Dublin, it was constructed in the 1960's. It has a garage to the side of it which was converted years ago. The garage needs, as does the house, rewiring & double glazing. The flat roof also needs insulating and water proofing. It has the original concrete floor from the garage down at the moment. Can anybody give me an idea about how much it would cost to install underfloor heating in the garage? I estimate the size to be 15 foot long x 8-10 foot wide. Also, the bathroom needs replacing upstairs. It is one of those old school separate toilet & bathroom jobs that has had the partition knocked down. Any idea what price it would cost to install underfloor heating there as well? The tilles would all need to be replaced along with the toilet, bath, etc.

    Thanking youse.

Honestly underfloor heating in a 1960s house is a bad idea, underfloor only works very well in houses which are well insulated and have minimal drafts etc.
And installing underfloor in a upstairs bathroom is goin to be ridicuously expensive vs putting in a rad or towel rail , the only option worth considering besides a rad/towel rail is possibly putting down the electric underfloor if it is a small bathroom and even at that a rad would almost defo be cheaper.

Im well experienced in underfloor and rads and i never reccomend installing both in the same house , and i would never reccomend underfloor in a retrofit unless the house is really well insulated , and costs are usually prohiibitive big for upstairs installs with standard floors i.e wooden floorboards and joists
