    Hi All,
My late father was attending hospital the last 6 years with a bowel problem ,stemimg from a blood clot which killed off most of his bowel. he regularly attended liver , kidney , heart doctors for check up and attended a warfrin clinic once or twice per week to manage his intake of that.

in the year before he died he had real trouble eating and had massive weight loss..in an attempt to rectify this the hospital again ran all kinds of tests and came to the conclusion reversing his colostomy bag would help by keeping the weight on him??they did the op and said it went well...he died a week later!!When the coroner did his report the cause of death was cancer of the oesophagus which was wide spread!!ive seen a solicitor who tells me although he cant see how it was not detected there is no case legally.

    a) if they did a simple probe down the stomach they would have diagnosed this and not operated and maybe treated him correctely

b)is this not medical negligence ??

Your thoughts would be very helpful

    thank you.
