    Hi guys,

I bought two books as a lot from auction. One of them is a keeper but the second one is Police related and I need some advice. I would like to sell it but does any of you can advise me with the value and also where to try to sell it (ebay?).

Now about the book. It is in very good condition green colour old style book from 1924. "The Irish Police Guide - for the use of the Civic Guard and the Police Forces of Northern Ireland".by John Herman Rice. Eight edition. Printed Dublin 1924.

Also inside is a note about the owner: Garda J.F.Gallagher. Reg.No. 2468 Five Mile Boume (????)

Anyway, does anyone have been dealed anything like this before.

    Regards,

    Timo

How much you thinking of for it??

I have several from over the years including 1930. I'd be slow to comment on what they are worth because (1) Im biased as im interested!!! and (2) I aquired mine from old Garda station attics etc.

    Any pics??

Well it was that or the OPW would have thrown them out. Ye have no idea the Garda history that was thrown into a skip over the years without them realizing it. Old books, uniforms etc etc. A real shame. So anytime I can get into the old station attics I jump at the chance before they are lost forever.:)

Im not a seller of collectables.....just trying to preserve some of the Garda history.

And my favorite, what I got with the Police book.

Brilliant reference book about the soldiers who fought mainly in the Irish regiments (Dubs, Connaghts, Leinster, Munster, Irish Reg and Fus. South Irish Horses, etc!), many cases their portraits and personal details what would be impossible to find from other sorces (especially pre war career in the bank).
