I'll be getting a laptop this week and I need to get 1 that has this output as my flatscreen tv has it and I want to hook the 2 up

haven't a clue how to go about this do few laptops have this or do I need to request it or find one online under the specs?

    Thanks

S-video will be hard to comeby on a laptop now well at lest a new one anyway..all will have HDMI..which is much better that s-video as it can transmit HD content..and video and audio in one cable s-video needs another cable for audio..what make is ur tv. And does it have HDMI? If it does HDMI will give a better signal and be easier to find..

as far as I can see there's no hdmi connection. It's mounted high up on a wall so it's difficult to be fully sure, Im gonna take it down to have a proper luck.

It's a normande flatscreen. Around 4 and half years old.

Really wanted to be able to hook up the laptaop to watch some stuff,

my old laptop got around same time it has that s output and the laptop is a dell inspiron.

i also had a dell inspiron and used to use s-video for a while with my old tv until i got a tv with a vga port and now a laptop and tv with hdmi..but if you google the model of the tv it should tell you whether it wil have it if it supports hd at all it will have save ya taking it down from the wall... but if it supports hd even HD ready it should have at least one HDMI port
