Guys, any experience with polishers first hand...I know the standard polishers without adjustable speeds (LIDL, Argos, Halfords) €25 - 40 are **** all use....any recommend a decent adjustable RPM polisher for 100 - 150 ish...its only for occasional use...

I've looked on detailingworld but just want one for use a couple of times a year...Cheers lads.

hmmm I might be sold ;)

Savage job on the starlet btw...how long does a job like that last before another coat? And what are you using?

I'm running Autoglym SRP and EGP at the moment but thinking of getting the HD Wax also.

Any issues at all with the polisher or would you buy the same one in the morning?...You'd swear I was buying a gaff here :pac:

    Appreciate the feedback ;)

Well, TBH with the red, not very long, you'd want to polish it every week after that. I sold it on and it has since been resprayed.

As for the polisher, I use the kit that came with it (still have over half of the chemicals etc left).

Only last week the head rounded and came off the pad, but apparenlty that was a fault with the earlier ones and has been rectified.

I'd defo buy one in the morning again, but i'd buy the full kit (190 i think) with the smaller pads for door pillars etc.

Looks like the same thing! The cleancar one has the polish pack, which is the three polishes.

Also, a member on here "Seperate" runs that site, AFAIK.

I'll be buying one of those DA's soon enough. What size pad's would you use on the door pillar's? and what size do you get with the polisher? thanks.

I presume these polishers are a lot less labour intensive than using a simply piece of cloth?

I've always been tempted by one; it's just the sheer cost.

I don't know the sizes, but I know there are two sizes, small and big. You get the big ones with it :)

No, they're alot of work if you want to do it right, and can be hard on the back etc. if you don't do it right! But for a quick, bi-weekly polish with a light pad and light polish, they'd be fine.

Correction detailing is really tough work, and requires alot of knowledge, patience and back lol. (That'd be the swil mark removing)

Borrowed one of those from a friend recently and was so pleased with the results I am buying one myself soon.

    By the way
Both the above mentioned companies are excellent to deal with.

Ye should try organise a little boards.ie group buy :P

    Lads,

If you're around Dublin, you're more then welcome to come and have a look at the polisher in action. They're easy enough to get hang of, but can take a bit of practice with the various polishes and pads to get into a proper correction.

We could do a group buy of 5 or more polishers, at a good discount.

I'd have someone for a polisher, so but me down for one.

Edit: Although, we might have to ask for permission.

    Andy,

Could someone who has never done a paint correction buy one of those Kestrels and get the results you get?

I'm not sure whether I'd do it myself. I'd rather save up and go to you at some stage instead.

BTW, when you say discount, how much would each buyer pay for one set?

It depends on alot of factors. If you have a jap car, for example, the paint is typically very soft on them, and they can correct up alot easier then say, a German car. I don't use a Kestrel myself usually, but I did have to on a couple of 911's, and while it took 40-50% longer then the rotary I'd normally use, the results were excellent. I wouldn't expect to pick it up and get perfect correction instantly, but with a bit of practice and the right technique, you can get good results.

I could know 15-20% off depending on numbers.

    20% sounds good.
Would this be for a Kit or just polisher on its own?
I am out until this evening so put me down for one on this basis.
I will let you know for def. later.

I think the kit would suit most people better, assuming they're starting machine polishing from scratch.

I'm sorry lads, this has gone too far.

I realise Separate is responding to the OP's post here, so it's not a spamming thread, but it has crossed a line from answering queries to selling stuff.

If you wish to proceed with this group buy, please PM Separate with your details.
