Still in pain a week after extraction

    I posted last week following extraction of top molar that resulted in me having a hole through to my sinus cavity. Have since been to oral surgeon who said to wait until next week to see if it closes by itself before deciding on surgery. I'm fine with that but the problem is I still have quite a lot pain. It'll be a week tomorrow and I'm eating the painkillers. It's not dry socket, I've had that before. The roof of mouth where local was injected is really tender and the gum where tooth removed is really painful. Has this something to do with sinus connection or what? I've had teeth out before and it pained for a day or 2 but then fine, even wisdom teeth. Should mention I'm now on antibiotics to prevent infection.
    Thanks for any help.

    Op, you've been to an oral surgeon who should be able to answer this over the phone for you tomorrow morning, everyone else is guessing...

    Good guesses;
    Post op pain
    sinus infection
    local infection
    spreading infection
    dry socket
    pain from adjacent tooth
    neuropathic pain
