Apologies if there's already a thread, but I went through the first 10pages & couldn't find one.

    Anyone check the pilot out?
It wasn't particularly bad, but I felt like it wasn't anything special either. Nothing we haven't seen before on tv.
And it's a shame too, because the cast is outstanding. To quote a friends tweet:
#agiftedman is the most tragic waste of an awesome cast ever!
Doubt I'll continue to watch it, seems like the kind of 10pm show RTE might take a liking to. It's no Medium though.

Got around to watching it tonight. It wasn't bad at all.

Michael is kind of an egotistical asshole doctor like Greg House, but without the sarcasm (or vicodin). Getting a bit of an Eli Stone vibe from the show too (but without the singing and dancing).

My predictions for the season (if I stick with it):

    1. Michael has a
    brain tumour
    .
    2. Someone else other than
Anna is dead and always has been (and it will be a big sixth sense-ish twist later on in the series)

Not bad at all though.... great to see Margo Martindale back on the small screen, and Julie Benz is getting less annoying the older she gets. :)

I'm giving all the new season shows a go and I got around to this one at the weekend. It wasn't really high on my 'must see' list from the outset and I wasn't impressed but still can't quite ditch it.

Anyone else find Anna (the ex-wife) to be a complete idiot and highly unreasonable? If she was that concerned about her work and her clinic, she should have been more careful to look right and left before going out onto the road. She appears to be grinning stupidly in most scenes and also harassing her ex husband unfairly.

I almost gave up on the thing completely after the Mexican woman in episode 1 started complaining that Michael wasn't doing the surgery on _one_ of her sick children even though she was getting free treatment at a top end clinic she wouldn't have gotten into the lobby of otherwise.

It stuck me as the sort of muck that RTE show at 7PM on a Sunday evening, along the lines of Highway to Heaven etc. Episode 3 did improve though when Michael told Anna to step off and told the guys at her clinic to sort out their own messes. There was good drama in the pilot's story.

What bugs me is that the guy is highly trained, brilliant and has worked his way up to where he is. He appears to be a generally good guy, if a little blunt but I had a blunt back specialist which I rather appreciated so I don't see that as being a bad thing. He's got idiot girl harassing him into running her clinic and his dropout sister who he's bankrolling telling him what a douchebag he is all the time. He's got paying customers he's putting on hold to run Anna's errands for her so he doesn't qualify as a douchebag in my book. I'm not sure what the writers are trying to do here really. If he was a genuinely nasty character you could see the point, but he's a guy trying to run his own business and help out a voluntary clinic too so you can't really fault him for telling them where to go when they ring looking for stupid things from him.

At the end of the day you're sitting there, watching the show and listening to Anna prattling on about this and that and you just have to go, 'You know what, you're dead love, now just move the hell on and forget about it". If this show continues on in the same vein I think I might be moving on too before long.

    http://www.tvline.com/2012/03/rachelle-lefevre-cbs-drama-austin-butler-cw-carrie-diaries/

Rachelle Lefevre has been tapped star in the CBS drama pilot Applebaum

Patrick Wilson took to his Twitter to say this:
    “I wanna be honest to
the Gifted Fans. When the SAME network does this…and TODAY…then chances are we are done.”

“this” being the announcement of casting Rachelle, and “TODAY” being the day after the Gifted Man season finale.

Was last week the finale? Aww.... :(
Now that I think about it, there was a certain finality to it.

If it pops up on terrestrial TV here, I recommend it.

Good show, I really liked it. There is good closure too, so it's worth sticking with.
