Will I get an ebay ban?

Hi all - Yesterday, I placed a bid on an item but soon after I sent the seller an email saying I was sorry but I'd no money left on my credit card and I wouldn't be able to pay if I won. She sent me a very angry email saying she'd report me. She also cancelled my bid. I responding very calmly saying I'd send an Irish postal order if she wanted. I also sent the email thread to ebay trying to defend myself. I've yet to hear from either.

I know I shouldn't have bid in this case, but I've 100% feedback with a score of over 400 and have never done this before.

    Thanks for any input.

They should accept the postal order that's fair enough from you. Can't see you getting a ban once your offered to pay.

Ignore them, they cancelled your bid. Much easier for the seller to do that than selling and worry if you were going to pay. You will not get a ban.

Very much doubt you would be banned, you could have cancelled the bid yourself too. There is a process for this but it only gives 3 options, and stupidly your situation is not included. I had to cancel one before so just chose one of the 3 items, think it was "put in the wrong price".

Seeing as you did not even win the auction you should have no hassle.

Hi all - just a quick update: Here what ebay replied with:

Thank you for writing to us regarding the abusive emails you have
received from seller "******". I understand your concern in
receiving an email of this nature, so please allow me to assist you with
    this.

I'd like to reassure you that abusing our Email Forwarding System is a
serious breach of eBay policy. For more information on this policy,
please copy the following link into a new browser window:

I've reviewed the eBay member you've brought to our attention and taken
the appropriate action. Privacy is a priority at eBay at all times so
we're not able to share the details of the actions we take. They can
range from issuing the seller an informational alert, a temporary
suspension, an indefinite suspension or terminating the member's
    account.

In addition, you may also want to contact the police regarding this
situation. We will gladly help the police with any inquiries they may
have. eBay works actively with law enforcement and regulatory agencies
to encourage lawful activity on the site and prosecution of wrongdoers.
Please ask the investigating officer to email us by using the "report
information to eBay" link on the following page:

Again thank you for taking the time to forward this information to us.
We really do rely on dedicated members such as yourself to keep eBay the
kind of place we all can be proud of.

    Kind regards,

    I'm delighted with that!

Thanks to all who said I'd be fine etc.
