If there's no witness and no CCTV there's little you can do. Fix it through your own insurance (with your own insurance being effected), pay for it yourself or just don't fix it.

    Sorry.

there actually is cctv... just not enough to see even half of the car park

talk to security ... they are sound lads about it.

same thing has happened to me... got home after shops, never noticed anything, wasn't looking really... Monday morning walk around the car, large dent in rear wing, can only of been done by a heavy door... possibly the old range Rover that was next to me that the wife remembered...

It is very hard to keep things in good nick if you have to rely on strangers being careful... ****ing arseholes!

Pretty frustrating alright. Every little scrape or dent that I have on my car has been caused by others in public car parks.

I'm sure the centre is covered by a 'park at your own risk' policy so without a reg and cctv it would be difficult to do anything about it unfortunately.

when i had nissan skyline, nice clean, very good shape body, lovely to look at it, and i had park her for number hours number times in public carpark (beside workplace), i was keeping as far as possible from other cars, didnt mind walk a bit.... but it never helps, there was always some eejit, who make a small dent to body , bumper and paint.... after half year, i didnt bother at all about car body, cos there was no way save cars good shape... people never give a f**k what they doing in carpark, over that .. it is other reason why i am driving punto now

CCTV will probably not be clear enough evidence - I always try to leave my car with plenty of spaces around.....mind you you can leave it with numerous spaces each side and some idiot will always park right beside you......

I always park miles away from anyone, partly to protect the car and partly as the time saved in being a little closer is always lost moving in and out of tighter spaces.

Anyway one time I did this, I noticed as I returned to my car that someone else had the same idea and had parked two spaces away from my car. Fine – I like to know there are people around nearly as wise as me :). But what was odd was a car was awkwardly reversing into the gap between my car and the next one, despite there being spaces all over the car park and there was no need anyway to reverse in.

So I stopped, watched for a while and noticed it was a learner who was practicing, he or she would park in crookedly, pull out try again.

Practice is good but you clearly can’t win.. :(.
