Running with Sciatica

    Ill start by saying im not looking for medical advice. Was just wondering,did or has anyone on here have sciatica,and if so,do you run with it,and if so,how does it go? Cheers in advance

    I had it for a couple of years, kept racing and training and paid the price. I'd definitely recommend you seek the advice of a medical professional on this.

    I struggle with this, it flares up badly on occasion but working with a physio you should be able to find the root cause of your particular case and work on strengthening and stretching work to minimise problems. I know a number of people with similar problems who run, probably same percentage of runners have the issue as people who don't run.

    Along with this I have to build up mileage reallly gradually over time and personally don't believe I'll go beyond half marathon distance in the future.
