Is the uncontested scrum an opportunity to develop skill?

I was doing a game recently that had uncontested scrums.

It got me thinking if a scrum is uncontested:

    1. If scrums are uncontested, would this have any effect on attacking team wanting channel 1, 2 or 3?

    2. Surely an uncontested scrum is the perfect opportunity for the hooker to practise a clean strike? I get the impression teams aren't taking this opportunity. Why not?

    3. I have a bias to the quick / open game. Sometimes a cr*p scrum means that teams can't implement a move they planned off a scrum.
Again, surely if the scrum is uncontested it's a good opportunity to use more complicated backline moves?

I appreciate some moves will ideally be used after a slight wheel /nudge forward so I am not talking about these.

I am talking about other moves where you are going to do something complex out in your backline that can only be done with clean ball from the scrum?

    4. Surely teams need to adjust their tactics off the scrum? If they can't shove / wheel - surely the 10 needs to stand a bit deeper / wider and the scrummie has to up his game?

Ok, give me your tactical opinions...
