FTA setup

    Hi all,

I have a couple of self catering houses on the east cost, they currently get tv with a sky sub. I'm starting to get a lot more continental Europeans staying (French, Italians, Dutch, Spanish, German, Swedes, etc.), so I'm thinking of dropping the sky sub and installing some sort of FTA setup with plenty of foreign language channels.

There would be a couple of tv's in each house, so I don't think a motorised dish would be much use. Should I leave the sky minidish for the UK fta channels and get a second dish for the European channels? What sized dish and how many lnbs would I need? Is there even any decent channels available?

I've read a fair bit, so I have a vague idea of what's involved but I'll be getting a professional to set it up if I go ahead with it. I'd just like an idea of what's needed.

    Thanks.

Have a look at this thread for ideas, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056020003 some good pics too so you'll have a decent idea what a setup would look like on your premises.
19e and 13e would be the most popular sats but you might need some others.A professional installer should know how to set it all up,if you have sky already that would mean the cables are in situ so it's only a matter of replacing boxes and new dish/dishes for reception.

Cheers, there is some decent links in some of the stickys too. Out of interest would any of the channels available be as popular as the BBC/ITV/C4 channels are in the UK?
