    It's a 68 bhp diesel, it'd be easier insure than a 1.4!

It'd be slower than most 1/1.3 litre petrol cars!

What year is it. I worked in Seat and can't remember seeing too many non turbo Toledos.

As for your answer it's a relative slow car for a young driver, it wouldn't be easily loaded as insurance on a civic would be.

Hah! There doesn't seem to be one...

    Maybe it's a Leon?

Exactly, it's a very slow (but tough and fairly economical), very plain old car that isn't seen as a yougfella's type of car so it's more than likely cheaper and easier to insure than many of the small engined japanese cars etc

In my case, insurance was the same for a 1.4i petrol and a 1.9 SDI VW (same engines)

i have seat leon sdi, i got it as my first car, wanted a diesel and as mentioned couldnt get insured on a tdi, but most insurance companies in ireland dont have an sdi listed so my car is actually insured as a seat leon tdi (90bhp)
its slow enough and you have to plan your passing out manouvers well in advance but other than that a cheap car to run and easily serviced and worked at yourself

was a non turbo toledo i am sure of that

Why are you paying a higher premiuim for something you don't have? Who're you insured with? I wouldn't keep driving with your insurance like that, god forbid an accident they might not pay out. Get it down as an SDI, it would be a nice bit cheaper.

I know the UK had a choice of 130bhp and 150bhp TDIs so maybe they had an SDI version. Or possibly the MK1.

i have a letter from insurance company stating that although on paper im insured under a tdi(90) they acknowledge that my car is in fact sdi etc... prob am paying a small bit more but im 25 now and i did i quote on a 90bhp leon vs a leon fr 150bhp and no difference in price with axa, only company that offically had me insured as sdi was quinn, im now with axa through broker but i think that on axa's own site it has sdi listed

IF he had enough money he'd get insured on a tdi one also.

Did that say 17.2s 0-100 km/h? That thing is slower than a wet week!
Not even Gaybo would have a problem with that.

seems far to slow if it takes 17.2

    17.2 seconds...ah jesus.
Nothing on the road should be that slow..unless it can carry 50 people.

    edit

Well that's about the most horrible thing ever.

I had a 01 Golf SDi for a brief period of time as a company car, you had to plan overtaking manouveres the day before, the thing was that gutless.
